Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus

A super smart scientist named Victor Frankenstein wants to make a living person from dead body parts and lightning, like playing God. He does it but the big scary monster he makes is lonely and mean because everyone hates him, so the monster gets revenge by hurting Victor's family, and they chase each other until it's super sad.

Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus' (1818) is framed as a series of letters from explorer Robert Walton to his sister, recounting his Arctic expedition where he encounters the dying Victor Frankenstein.
