In a huge galaxy far in the future, a smart guy named Golan Trevize gets kicked out of his city for asking too many questions about what's really controlling everything. He teams up with a nice professor named Janov Pelorat and a super-friendly girl named Bliss from a magic planet where everyone and every animal thinks together like one big family. They fly a cool spaceship looking for the old home planet Earth, while bad guys chase them because they think Trevize knows a big secret that could change the whole galaxy forever. In the end, Trevize has to pick between normal people staying separate, joining into one giant mind, or something even bigger to keep everyone safe from scary aliens.
